Getting Help
How do I get help with my phone?
You can reach the Helpdesk in three ways:
- Dial 611 from any Polycom phone at your company.
- Dial 512-419-0070 from any phone.
- Send an email to helpdesk@yourdomain (for example helpdesk@widgetron.com).
Initial Setup
How do I set up my Polycom phone?
Your phone's ready to go. You only need to configure your voicemail.
How do I know how many lines were configured for my phone?
There's always at least one: your own. If you look in the upper lefthand corner of your phone's display, you'll see a telephone icon next your extension.
Every additional line you have is indicated by that same telephone icon, and only that icon. A person-icon, for example, indicates a "Buddy Watch".
Placing and Answering Calls
How do I place a call?
You can place calls with the receiver either on- or off-hook. On-hook calls (handset is in the "cradle") use the built-in speakerphone. You must press Dial or Send after entering the number in order to initiate the call.
- Internal calls: Dial the extension, usually the last 4 digits of the recipient's direct dial number (example: 512-555-0070, means you would dial 0070).
- Local Calls: Dial the seven-digit number. Note: there's no need to dial "9" or any other prefix to 'dial out'.
- Long-distance Calls: Dial the ten-digit number. Note: there's no need to dial "1" first.
- International: Dial as you would from a regular phone: for most cases, you dial 011 (the code that indicates you're making an international call), followed the country-code and the number. Example: 011444938285.
How do I answer a call?
- Pick up your handset, or
- Press the Answer key to use the speakerphone.
