Email Filters
Accessing your filters
To access your filters:
- Select Preferences from the applications tab at the top of the viewing pane.
- Select the Filters section from the left hand menu.
Creating filters
To create a new filter:
- Select New Filter. A small window will pop up.
- Name your filter, determine your conditions, and choose the action you wish to take.
- The filter is effective immediately once OK is pressed.
From the main Filter page you can reorder the priority of your filters by selecting a filter and choosing the Move Up or Move Down buttons.
Testing your filters
After creating a filter you can test it against an existing folder by selecting the Run Filter icon. A new window will pop up and ask you to select a folder that you would like to run the filter against.
After the filter is run, an information window will pop up with the number of messages affected by the filter. With that information you should be able to adjust your filter accordingly.
Troubleshooting
Filters can sometimes be a tricky thing. Being able to test the filter helps working out any issues but you still may run into problems.
A few questions to ask yourself:
- Are my filters in the correct order?
- Are there any filters that are active that shouldn't be?
- Is that filter too vague?
- Is that filter too stringent?
