Although we have a strong focus on recurring network support and maintenance, our talented engineering team has the skills and diversity to tackle most any expansion or integration project you might want to throw at us, ranging from the most basic server setup to the most advanced network integration project. For all projects, we work with you to define and scope them out, and we then implement them on an hourly basis, providing regular feedback to you on progress.

Representative Engineering Projects

Mobile Dental Fleet

This project involved building and integrating a network of five mobile dental vans for a non-profit healthcare provider. Each van has a small computer network to provide staff access to centralized electronic dental records and x-rays, and each van has two redundant, wireless Internet connections provided by AT&T and Verizon, configured to automatically fail over to the other if service is unavailable. Each van connects to the main office to share and synchronize its electronic records and to provide van staff with access to the corporate network and email. IT Freedom researched, designed, and built and installed the entire network, designed and implemented the redundant Internet connections and office connections, and developed the synchronization software for the electronic records.

Large-Scale Network Migration

This project involved migrating a customer network of about 250 workstations and 30 servers from one corporate network to another when the customer was purchased by the new parent company. IT Freedom was the lead contractor on the project and worked closely with our customer on the entire migration. We migrated all computers to a new subnetwork and Windows Active Directory domain, provided high-speed fiber connectivity between the offices. We tested each step of the migration before carrying it out, and the entire project was completed with minimal disruption to end-users.

Enterprise-Class VoIP Infrastructure

The complex infrastructure that we have built for our Voice Freedom™ service is a great example of our technical depth and wherewithal. We designed and built the entire system from scratch on Linux servers and open-source telephony software, and we overcame many great technical challenges to achieve a level of redundancy, reliability, sound quality, features, manageability and overall value that is simply unbeatable for our target customers.

Miscellaneous Office Moves

In addition to complex large-scale projects, we also carry out many smaller networking projects all the time. One of the most common such project is when a customer moves to a new office. Such moves require a great deal of coordination with multiple vendors, as data and phone cabling must be installed or upgraded, Internet and phone service established and tested at the new location, and the entire computer and phone networks moved. As always, we pride ourselves in minimizing customer down-time, distractions, and service disruptions through thorough, detailed planning and execution.
